EMILIE FLÖGE

Reforming Fashion, Inspiring Art

04-06-2016 to 26-10-2016

In its capacity as operator of the Gustav Klimt Center, the Klimt Foundation has decided to dedicate the documentation center’s fifth special summer exhibition to the woman by the side of the famous holiday resident on the Attersee: the fasion designer Emilie Flöge.

The extact nature of the relationship between Gustav Klimt and Emilie Flöge is still subject to speculation. Precisely 100 years after the couple spent their last summer sojourns on the Attersee, the Klimt Center is now showing exclusive messages and mementoes of their lives together in Vienna and on the Attersee, highlighting moments between reform dress and painter’s smock.

For the first time in the Klimt Center’s history, the exhibition includes contemporary positions, showcasing works by the artists Bernadette Huber and Irene Andessner.
